Friday, July 8, 2016

Warner Music Canada / Slaight Music recording artists The Washboard Union have today released the video for “Shot Of Glory,” the third single from their debut EP, In My Bones.  The video was filmed by director Stefan Berrill at Toronto’s Woodbine Racetrack and includes footage of the band live in concert.

“Shot Of Glory” is the follow-up to the Top Ten Country Radio hit “Maybe It’s The Moonshine.”  The release of the video comes while the band is in the midst of a hectic summer touring schedule which included dates in Europe as well as some of Canada’s most popular country music festivals including the Cavendish Beach Music Fest, CMT Music Fest and Calgary Stampede.  See all dates below.

In the few short years they have been together, The Washboard Union have defied classification and have become one of the most exciting and talked about new bands on the Canadian Country music scene.  Along with being nominated for Roots Artists of the Year by the British Columbia Country Music Association, they have signed on with the country music power house management team at Sakamoto Entertainment and inked a recording deal with Warner Music Canada/Slaight Music.

The Washboard Union are a sextet out of Vancouver, British Columbia, led by step brothers Aaron Grain, & Chris Duncombe and their best friend David Roberts.  The three share an unconscious soundtrack and unbridled love for the art of songwriting and storytelling.  Friends seemingly forever, the music they make has set them apart as one of the most unique talents in country music today.

In My Bones was produced by West Tennessean Trey Bruce (Faith Hill, Randy Travis, and Diamond Rio), a name known well in Nashville circles and one of people responsible for saving RCA Studio A from potential demolition.  The band met Trey having written the song “Some Day” in late 2014.  Trey called the band immediately after that first session and demanded in a thick Tennessee drawl that he take the producer helm for the bands next record. The answer, of course, was “Yes”.  In February 2015, The Washboard Union headed back into the studio for recording of this album with a group of very accomplished Nashville musicians including Bob Britt (Dixie Chicks) on guitar, Greg Morrow (George Strait , ZZ TOP) on drums, Michael Brignardello (Dolly Parton, Luke Bryan) and Alison Prestwood (Blake Shelton) on bass, Jonathan Yudkin (Taylor Swift) on mandolin and good friend and guitar player Craig ”Long Haul” McCaul from Canada.
