The New York based indie rock band Born Cages to release, The Sidelines EP, on June 18th via Razor & Tie.

Born Cages new EP was produced by Jon Kaplan (Walk The Moon, Augustana) andOliver Straus (Arctic Monkeys, Matt & Kim) at Mission Sound in Brooklyn, NY. The band is finishing up their debut full length album to be released later this year.
The New York City based Born Cages formed in 2011. Within one year the young band had already released an EP, opened two sold-out shows for Guns N’ Roses and shared stages with such bands as Gold Fields, Mother Mother, and Ludo. The band has had music played on Q104.3 in New York and recently recorded a session at the Gibson NYC showroom that premiered on Purevolume. They were also featured on a large billboard in Times Square as part of a Toshiba promotion. Born Cages is Vlad Holiday (lead vocals/lead guitar), Amanda Carl (keyboards/backing vocals), Steve Kellner (bass guitar/backing vocals) and Dave Tantao (drums).

(New York, NY) - P.O.D. and Flyleaf have announced that they will be embarking on a co-headlining U.S. tour, kicking off on July 13th in Kenosha, WI and wrapping on August 10th in San Diego, CA. In June they are heading to Russia, Austria, Switzerland, France, Germany and the UK, including a performance at the U.K.'s Download festival.

Legislation to reform disclosure reporting obligations of political parties


 Special Minister of State Mark Dreyfus QC today announced the introduction of legislation to reform the disclosure and reporting obligations of political parties, independents and third parties in the electoral process.
The Bill contains 24 measures that build on the December 2011 recommendations of the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters relating to the funding of political parties and election campaigns, as well as the Fair Work Australia report of September 2012.
The Bill reduces the threshold for disclosure of donations from $12,100 to $5,000 and requires reporting where donations from an individual or organisation exceed $5000 in a six month period.
“These changes will significantly increase the transparency of donations made to political parties,” Mr Dreyfus said.
“Any single donation of $100,000 or more to a political party must also be reported to the Australian Electoral Commission within 28 days. The AEC will then disclose the details within 28 days of the return being lodged.
“Gifts of foreign property will be also prohibited and the disclosure threshold for anonymous gifts will be reduced to $1,000.”
The Bill introduces administrative funding for political parties with at least one candidate elected and elected independents and compliance funding for parliamentary parties.
Administrative funding will be based upon the number of first preference votes received by candidates endorsed by the party, while compliance funding is a flat figure which will be indexed over time.
Public funding of political parties is a long established principle and important aspect of our democracy.
“The new funding provisions are designed to assist political parties meet their obligations under the new disclosure and reporting regime,” said Mr Dreyfus.
“The new funding will also reduce the reliance of political parties on third party donors, making the system more transparent and increasing the independence of political parties.
“The significant changes made by the Bill will give greater confidence to Australian electors that they know where the money is coming from.”
The Bill will also provide for political parties to be treated like bodies corporate for the purposes of the funding and disclosure provisions of the Commonwealth Electoral Act and introduce an infringement notice scheme for offences like failing to lodge a return on time.

I have never been one for subtitles, so watching this film was something I put off for some time.  But once I started watching the film I was glued.  This film had me laughing, crying and then laughing again.  No movie has ever made me jump to such extremes before.  Such a great movie!

 This movie has great acting, an awesome story line, and is just a great emotional ride!

I give this film a firm 5/5 "Roos"

RAZOR & TIE TO RELEASE THE ZTT AND STIFF RECORDS COMPILATION ZAMBIENT ONE ON JUNE 4TH
(New York, NY) - Razor & Tie will release the first compilation from the recently acquired catalog of ZTT and Stiff Records. The first in a new compilation series,Zambient One, set for release on June 4th in the U.S. and Canada, is ZTT's take on the long-running, successful compilation series Late Night Tales, Another Late Night, and Balearica. The 12 track album mixes both ZTT and Stiff Records artists and features 6 unreleased tracks from Art of Noise, 808 State, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Propaganda, and more.
The soundtrack to an imaginary road movie, Zambient One's chilled out, 21st Century lounge music is split into three parts, heading off from Sarm Studios in West London on a torrential Friday night and arriving at the burning embers of Studios Mediterraneo in Ibiza just in time for sunrise on Sunday. The resulting album is a very personal collection of modern day lullabies and wake-up calls.

(New York, NY) - Razor & Tie is thrilled to announce the addition of the new Swedish alt-rock band  (pronounced in-vey-zhuh-n) to its worldwide label roster (excluding Scandinavia). INVSN was formed by Dennis Lyxzen (Refused, The International Noise Conspiracy) along with musicians Andre Sandstrom (DS-13), Sara Almgren (The International Noise Conspiracy), Richard Osterman, and Anders Stenberg (Lykke Li, Deportees).

The band will release their debut U.S. album this Fall. The album was tracked at Studio Ingrid in Stockholm, (formerly known as Polar Studios) and is currently being mixed by Nick Launay (Arcade Fire, PiL, Nick Cave, Kate Bush) and Jacob Hansen (Volbeat).

(New York, NY) - The Piano Guys have signed a worldwide publishing deal with Razor & Tie Music Publishing. A worldwide phenomenon, The Piano Guys, became an internet sensation by way of their immensely successful series of strikingly original self-made music videos which continue to amass millions of views. Formed in 2011, the group has gone on to appear on dozens of high profile television shows, toured the world, and have released two albums to date.
The group's just released sophomore album, The Piano Guys 2, debuted this week on the Billboard Charts with over 11,300 units sold at #1 on Classical Overall, #1 onClassical Crossover, # 1 on New Age, and #38 on the Top 200 Album Chart. Band Working On New Music With Craig Owens Back In The Fold
(New York, NY) - Razor & Tie is thrilled to announce the addition of influential post-hardcore giants Chiodos to its worldwide label roster. The band is currently well into the writing process of their forthcoming new studio album which will be released through a newly created band label imprint via Razor & Tie.
The new music sees founding members Bradley Bell, Pat Mcmanaman, Derrick Frost,and Matt Goddard reunited with charismatic founding front man, Craig Owens and also introduces fans to the band's newest member, guitarist Thomas Erak (formerly from The Fall Of Troy).
As previously announced, the band will perform on the main stage on the Van's Warped Tour (tour dates below).
